Climb Out of the Heat and Up the Walls

By Ciara Jean
Rock Solid Climbing + Fitness

Staying active in Tucson is typically as easy as stepping outside. But sometimes, the heat can make it unbearable. Luckily, you can bring the outdoor fitness of rock climbing inside at Rock Solid Climbing + Fitness.  Catering to all ages, the 12,000 square feet of climbing walls can be found at all angles, from 70-degree walls where you can nearly hang upside down to toddler walls that children can tackle. Rock Solid is mainly a bouldering gym where people climb without the support of a harness, but they do have a section with 12 belay courses. Eight levels of difficulty, from pink (the easiest) to black (the hardest), means there are options for all skill levels, and frequent changes to the climbing course keep everyone on their toes.

The fitness activities don’t stop there. Guests can also use the free weights, body weights, and cardio equipment and the fitness studio for yoga, Pilates, and dance classes. Rock Solid offers gear rentals as well as all-day, weekly, and monthly passes. Climbing a 40-foot wall with no support might sound intimidating, but it won’t be for long. Instructors are standing by to guide climbers for a fun, safe, and rewarding experience.
