Feel,
HF Coors

With roots that trace back to 1925, HF Coors is a proud symbol of American craftsmanship right here in Tucson. Founded as Catalina China in 1989, HF Coors carries on a legacy that began in 1925 with the original Coors family in California—the same family behind the iconic brewery—and remains one of the last large-scale ceramic mug and dinnerware manufacturers in the United States.

Each piece is crafted from vitrified ceramic, which is mixed and glazed on-site using American-sourced materials and then f i red at temperatures exceeding 2,300°F to achieve maximum density and strength. That means each piece won’t absorb moisture or odors, and it’s safe for the broiler, oven, microwave, freezer, and dishwasher.

More than just functional, HF Coors dinnerware is downright beautiful. Inside the showroom, visitors will find shelves lined with hand-painted Sonoran Desert and Day of the Dead collections, as well as retro-modern designs and iconic patterns, such as the Mimbreño collection, inspired by historic Mimbreño pottery once used on trains during the Fred Harvey era. They also supplied the dinnerware used on the smash hit show Yellowstone, and reproductions are available for purchase only in Tucson.

Every step of the manufacturing process —from the mixing of the clay to the final hand-sponging to packing and shipping— happens right here in Tucson. In fact, every item passes through roughly 21 pairs of hands before it’s ready to be sold. There’s something special about holding a plate that’s been fi red with precision, painted with care, and stamped with Tucson pride.

HF Coors is well known for manufacturing coffee mugs that graced the shelves of Starbucks, sat on the desks of late-night talk show hosts, and held in the hands of professional hockey players, making them an integral part of America’s coffee culture. But HF Coors’ reach doesn’t stop at mugs.

Their dinnerware is used in restaurants in Canada and across the United States, including some of Tucson’s popular establishments—think Union Public House, Blanco Tacos, Snooze, and Prep & Pastry—meaning chances are, if you’ve dined out in the Old Pueblo, you’ve already experienced their craftsmanship firsthand. The best part? You don’t have to be a chef or a restaurant owner to bring it home. Visitors can step right into the Tucson factory store and shop the same pieces seen in top kitchens—from restaurant-tested plates and mugs to beautifully hand-painted keepsakes. Additionally, the showroom’s outdoor factory seconds section features pieces with minor imperfections at significant discounts. Visit their website to make online purchases, or stop by the showroom, Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
